St Patrick’s day inspiration

St. Patrick’s Day, when all of Ireland dresses in green, shamrocks and Irish flags. There are lots of celebrations going on around the country and each town would have its own local parade. As a non-Irish person I do my best to join in the patriotic spirit. So here’s some inspiration for what you can do at home to celebrate the big day.

We always have a St. Patrick’s breakfast or brunch at home. So fist I decorate the table with whatever green things I have at home.

A green table cloth and green candles.

Luckily it’s the season for daffodils, so if you are lucky enough to have some growing in the garden (or perhaps a nice neighbour is happy to share some) I highly recommend picking some. And if you can do this dressed in green, even better!

If you can, it’s also nice to dress the other family members in green. Here’s my youngest’s first St. Patrick’s Day.

Some outfits over the years..

And now to the food.. I try to find green, white and orange coloured food to make everything look like the Irish flag. Avocado, cream cheese, salmon for example.

We often make waffles as well. Then you can colour the cream with orange and green. Or use green and orange fruits.

Last year we used pistachio paste, cream and mango.

I hope this as given you some inspiration for tomorrow☘️
